Link Your Webmaster Tools Account with LinkRisk
One of the exciting features we’ve launched this week is Google Webmaster Tools integration. Whilst this represents a major development for easily pulling new links into your profiles due to some limitations with the API, the process is a little more complicated currently than we’d like it to be.
So we’ve produced one of our step by step guides to work you through it,
First thing we do is load up the Webmaster Tools tab of our Account Details page and we need to Sign in with Google.
If you have more than one account, you’ll be asked to select one.
You can see from the next screen that we are requesting access to Manage your data in Webmaster Tools, this is the minimum we can ask for to gain access to some of the required WMT data.
Now that we’ve authorised our account with Webmaster Tools, you can see, in LinkRisk, all the sites that you have verified your account to.
There is one final thing that you need to do for us (we hope that the limitations on the Webmaster Tools API will be lifted soon) which is that we need you to share your site with firstname.lastname@example.org, our system requires only restricted viewer account.
If you login to Webmaster Tools, scroll down to your site and click Add or remove users, just add email@example.com as a restricted viewer and our system will pick it up within 15 minutes.
